MAINPAIN were formed in 1996.
The first EP, named PAINTED, was issued in 2001, followed by the first LP, FOOD FOR TOUGHTS, published in 2006.
Feedback was so impressive that MAINPAIN were hired by Blaze Bayley as opening act for his european tour, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the Italian metal scene, such as Strana Officina, Domine, Sabotage and Crying Steel.
2012 is the year in which the recording of THE EMPIRICAL SHAPE OF PAIN took place, eventually released in 2014.
In 2017 the band published their latest EP, titled RISE AGAIN, with a new videoclip to support it.
2021 marked the 25th anniversary of the band and new songs have been in the works ever since.
So stay tuned!

METALITALIA.COM
TRANSLATED FROM ITALIAN:
"It is works like this that give us hope for the Italian scene, demonstrating that our musical undergrowth is able to give us formations of absolute depth, with great potential and able to churn out music at the same level as international colleagues. Do you want to support the Italian scene and, at the same time, have in your hands a CD to listen to endlessly? "The Empirical Shape Of Pain" is for you."
TRUEMETAL
TRANSLATED FROM ITALIAN:
"At the end of listening, it would be completely useless to meticulously relist defects and merits because this work of them presents itself for what it is, without masks or false pretensions: a sincere and compact test, probably not innovative, but from which character and a genuine passion for our musical roots shine through, often unjustly left in oblivion to favor the genres still in vogue."
METALLIZED
TRANSLATED FROM ITALIAN:
"The Empirical Shape of Pain is an album that while not inventing anything is really pleasant and of good impact and will give satisfaction to anyone looking for a heavy record inspired and played in an excellent way. Approved."
METALWAVE
TRANSLATED FROM ITALIAN:
"It is worth counting this The Empirical Shape of Pain among the albums in your collection, so my advice is to buy it.
Happy listening and support Italian metal."
METAL.IT
TRANSLATED FROM ITALIAN:
"The style is always what characterizes them since the beginning, a robust Heavy Metal eighty-year-old that looks as much to the most classic N.W.O.N.H.M. as to the Power Speed scene Made in the U.S.A., in the case between Metal Church, Iced Earth, Liege Lord and Sanctuary.
More immediate, compact and other more articulated and structured songs alternate and manage to give body to an album that does not bore and that manages to capture the attention and the consents of the listener. "

"It seems that the 8 year gap between the debut album and their new release has worked beneficially for the band. They have the enthusiasm and yet the experience and maturity that shines on this release and will make you listen to it again and again; A very good album indeed."
